The United Nations' declaration of an International Women's Year and Decade (1975-1985) started discussion and debate on women's rights. Yet the role played by women in the development of the country remained insignificant. The world has yet to realize the importance of eradicating discrimination against women.Women are playing a greater role in

It is true that the women organization nowadays encourages women to
participate in political affairs. But they are still held back by the
parochial culture, particularly in the villages. It is a positive sign
that women are being recruited for the army and other posts, but still

improve women's status. But the leaders are adept at changing their
colors and goals, and adjusting to a changing environment. It is this
ability that allowed them to come to the cities. However, they are in
